Power Cuts II!

Now the dust has settled from the latest power cut due to storm damage last weekend, the main issue perhaps is the difficulties experienced with the telephone 'helpline' - which generally wasn't much help at all!

The first day ringing it we were informed of 3 or 4 places in Cleveland that had loss of power - then on the second day we were told there were widespread problems over all counties of the North - more accurate but not mouch more helpful than the earlier message.

While it plainly becomes impossible to personally answer every call when there's widespread damage, it would have been a good option to be able to leave a message stating that the local area was off supply - this is a worry - that they may not be aware that a relatively small area like the Westerdale line is down.

Anyway it seems that this has been a common complaint which hoefully might be addressed before the next incident!

In the end considering the severity of the wind we were quite lucky to get back on supply as soon as we did.
Undoubtedly the engineers on the ground did a fine job in difficult conditions, it was the information department that angered and annoyed everyone!
